UIN Jakarta BPI Study Program Receives Guest Lecturers and Establishes International Cooperation with Peka Malaysia
The Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Sciences of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, especially the Islamic Guidance and Counseling Study Program (BPI), received a visit from a guest lecturer from the Malaysian Educational Counselor Association (PEKA) on Friday, February 7, 2025. This event took place at Meeting Room, 2nd floor, Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Sciences from o'clock 09.30 to 11.30 WIB .
This activity was attended by Dean of the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Sciences, Dr. Gun Gun Heryanto, M.Sc., Vice Dean 3, Dr. Muhtadi, M.Sc., Head of Administration, Sundus Nuzuli, M.Sc., Head of KPI Study Program, Dr. Yopi Kusniati, M.Sc., Head of BPI Study Program, Dr. Hj. Nasichah, MA., Secretary of BPI Study Program, Bilqis Naufi, M.Sc., HMPS administrators and BPI students .
During this visit, the PEKA delegation that attended consisted of: Datin Dr. Siti Taniza Toha (President of PEKA Malaysia ), Datok Sulaiman Ahmad (PEKA Advisor), Mr. Muhammad Saffuan (Director and PEKA Education Training), En Farid Wajadi (PEKA Panel Trainer)
The event was opened with remarks from the Head of the BPI Study Program, Dr. Hj. Nasichah, MA ., who expressed her appreciation for the arrival of the PEKA delegation and hopes for closer academic collaboration in the future. Furthermore, Vice Dean 3, Dr. Muhtadi, M.Sc., highlighted the importance of international cooperation in the field of guidance and counseling. The Dean, Dr. Gun Gun Heryanto, M.Sc., in his remarks emphasized that collaboration with PEKA is a strategic step in strengthening the academic capacity and professionalism of BPI students and lecturers.
Datin Dr. Siti Taniza Toha, in her speech, expressed her honor to be able to share experiences and knowledge with the academic community of the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Sciences. She also emphasized the importance of developing counseling skills based on Islamic values in facing educational and social challenges in the modern era.
As part of the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Islamic Guidance and Counseling Study Program (BPI) and PEKA , marking the start of official cooperation between the two institutions. After the signing, souvenirs were handed over as a symbol of appreciation and strengthening the relationship between the two parties.
This activity is a very valuable momentum for students and lecturers in expanding their knowledge about educational counseling practices in Malaysia and strengthening academic relations between PEKA and UIN Jakarta. The discussion that took place with great enthusiasm is expected to be the beginning of various academic and professional collaborations in the future.
The event ended with a group photo session as a symbol of togetherness and commitment to continue to establish synergy in the development of Islamic guidance and counseling science.
