The Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Sciences (FDIKOM) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has conducted the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Friends Foundation (YTB) (Friends International). The event began at 1:00 PM WIB with an opening by Aprilia as the MC, on Wednesday, April 24, 2024.

Present at the event were Ahmad Zaky, Head of the Social Welfare Study Program (Kessos); Gun Gun Heryanto, Dean of FDIKOM; and Ari Widodo, Country Program Director of YTB.

Several important points were conveyed during the event, especially regarding the synergy and collaboration between YTB and UIN Jakarta, which are expected to be not temporary but sustainable, gradual, and to foster institutional communication. Through the signing of this MoA, the Dean of FDIKOM expressed that individuals can transform to absorb more information and knowledge, not just by learning in the classroom, but by engaging with strategic partners aligned with their study programs. All practice partners are considered very important and useful. Additionally, he mentioned that finding partners with the same vision and mission is very challenging, but he believes that each study program has identified what it needs.

The Friends Foundation also emphasized the importance of collaboration between universities and social foundation organizations operating in the field. Without collaboration with universities, these organizations would fall behind and work randomly. The organization serves as a platform to provide experience and learn from the interns.

The event continued with the signing of the MoA by the Dean of FDIKOM and the Country Program Director of the Friends Foundation. The event was also attended by vice deans and the Head of the Social Welfare Study Program. It continued with a sharing session by YTB with the interns and concluded with the awarding of certificates.(Ay)
