The Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Sciences (FDIKOM) successfully held an International Public Lecture event with the theme "Islamic Broadcasting In The Digital Era." The event was attended by the Dean, Gun Gun Heryanto, Vice Dean I, Fita Fathurokhmah, Vice Dean II, Rubiyanah, Vice Dean III, Muhtadi, as well as students from FDIKOM UIN Jakarta and students from the Islamic Science University of Malaysia (USIM). The series of events took place in the Theater Room on the second floor of the FDIKOM Building on Tuesday (20/2).

The International Public Lecture featured Gun Gun Heryanto delivering the Opening Speech, Suriah A. Rahma as the Speaker from USIM, and was moderated by Muhtadi. The event also involved scholarship recipients from the 1000 Da’I BAMUIS BNI program at UIN Jakarta as part of the event's facilitators.

In his address, the Dean of FDIKOM stated, "The world has changed, leading to a multipolarization of relationship patterns. Collaboration is no longer merely short-term but also needs to be continuous because we are facing significant challenges. One of the competencies that need to be emphasized is knowledge, but knowledge alone is not sufficient. Therefore, networking is necessary. That's why student exchange should become a strengthened tradition because it familiarizes us with a collaborative pattern that strengthens each other."

Suriah A. Rahma outlined, "In the context of Islamic broadcasting dissemination, there are several elements: Media Content, Islamic moral ethic, hard practicalities, and aesthetical values. There are 4 issues and challenges: Comparison of Islamic-based media in countries, Representation of Islam/Muslim religion in the media, Focusing this meaningfulness into more preferred meanings, and excessive content in the media. Looking at local media content, producers have attempted to create and instill cultural and religious identity, especially Islamic content."

Suriah A. Rahma also emphasized in his closing remarks that we must participate in the developments because Islamic broadcasters must keep up to fill the continuity of Islamic content. Content that entertains, educates, and benefits everyone. Perhaps this is the right time for us to creatively create new media programs that not only reflect reality but also contribute to the formation of Islamic identity and cultural values. (MTD)
