Social Welfare Study Program Students of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Won 1st Place in the Public Policy Recommendation Competition "Really Impactful 2024"
Jakarta, October 24, 2024 – A team of students from the Social Welfare Study Program, Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Sciences, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, successfully achieved a brilliant achievement by becoming the 1st Place Winner in the 2024 Real Impactful Public Policy Recommendation Competition. The team consisting of Muhammad Dimas Abimanyu, Dafi Apriarso, and Muhamad Fauzan Rahmadani managed to bring home the trophy and some cash.
The competition, organized by Beneran Indonesia in collaboration with Indika Foundation, took place at the Mandala Room of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Central Jakarta, and focused on increasing youth participation in peaceful democracy by upholding the values of Pancasila. Participants were assessed based on the Policy Brief they created and presented to stakeholders in the Jakarta area.
The UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta team won the competition with a Policy Brief entitled "Innovation in Empowering Waste Banks for Sustainable Waste Management in Jakarta". This policy brief offers innovative solutions related to waste management in Jakarta, especially through the empowerment of waste banks as a sustainable management model. The team's presentation received high appreciation from the judges because it was able to integrate environmental issues with community empowerment.
Muhammad Dimas Abimanyu, as the team representative, stated that this victory was not only a source of pride for them, but also a real contribution to Jakarta in facing the increasingly pressing challenges of waste management. "We hope that this policy recommendation can be implemented immediately and have a direct impact on the people of Jakarta," he said.
The 2024 Real Impact Public Policy Recommendation Competition is an annual competition that invites young people to formulate applicable and impactful public policies. This competition is a forum for students to develop policy ideas that are relevant to the socio-political challenges currently facing Indonesia. (Dms)
