Closing of the 11th Certification for Hajj and Umrah Mentors: 90 Percent of Participants Passed!
The Directorate General of Hajj and Umrah Services of the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Sciences (FDIKOM) at UIN Jakarta, and the Association of Indonesian Muslim Hajj and Umrah Organizers (AMPHURI) concluded the final series of events in the certification program for Hajj and Umrah mentors at the Golden Tulip Essential Hotel in Tangerang, Banten, on Friday (8/3).
Since its inception, this event has been attended by 83 participants, and this closing ceremony marks the final series of activities to announce the results of the selection of Hajj and Umrah mentors.
Saiful Mujab, the Director General of Hajj and Umrah Services at the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs, sees this certification program as a means to enhance the quality of knowledge, both theoretically and practically, among Hajj and Umrah mentors.
"There is a need for certification specifically for mentors to enhance their capacity. The capacity of mentors in terms of knowledge, history, experience, and appearance needs to be strengthened, especially considering the numerous regulatory changes that are occurring," he said during an interview with the DNK TV team on Friday (8/3).
In the announcement read by the Ministry of Religious Affairs representative, Muhamad Zen, it was noted that out of the 83 participants registered for this year's certification, only 79 participants passed, while the remaining 4 participants were declared unsuccessful due to reasons unspecified.
Firman M Nur, the Chairman of AMPHURI, stated that this year's certification event for Hajj and Umrah mentors was different from previous years because it involved the national disability commission to ensure that all Hajj pilgrims have equal rights and opportunities without limitations.
"The certification organized by AMPHURI this year is different because we have involved the national disability commission, which ensures that Hajj pilgrims with disabilities have the same rights to guidance and services as normal pilgrims. In previous certifications, we never included this aspect, so that the services provided to both normal and disabled Hajj pilgrims can be equal, as everything is a call from Allah," explained Firman in an interview with DNK TV.
In conclusion, Firman expressed his hope that he could carry out this certification as much as possible, holding onto the principle that guiding Hajj pilgrims with sincerity is one of the noblest tasks. (Reporter: Kuni Hanifah/DNK TV)
