KPI Study Program DIKOM UIN Jakarta Holds Another Lecturer Discussion Titled " Distinction of Islamic Broadcasting Communication Science & Quo KPI Vadis ”

The Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Study Program, FDIKOM UIN Jakarta, once again held the Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Discussion (SIKOPI) Series 2 Session 4 with the theme "Distinguishing Islamic Broadcasting Communication Science & Quo Vadis KPI” on Thursday (15/05), held in the Meeting Room on the 2nd floor of FDIKOM, attended by the Dean of FDIKOM Dr. Gun Gun Heryanto along with the ranks of Vice Deans, Heads of Study Programs, Lecturers, and Students. The discussion was opened by the Head of the KPI Study Program , Dr. Yopi Kusmiati, M.Si and moderated by Isna Siskawati, M.Si.

Ade Masturi, MA as the first resource person presented material on the scientific distinction of Islamic broadcasting communication . In his presentation, Islamic Broadcasting Communication was born from the tabligh dimension in Da'wah Science. According to him, this distinction has a unique position because it focuses on conveying Islamic messages through various modern and traditional communication media.

Next, Muhammad Fanshoby M.Sos delivers about " Quo Vadis KPI". He stated that the distinction of KPI should be an important concern because it is related to the direction of KPI's science. He added that KPI UIN Jakarta needs to re-arrange its scientific roadmap . First, by strengthening KPI's position as a center for digital Islamic communication research. Second, making social media a research material for students and lecturers. This needs to be done to strengthen KPI graduates so that they can compete with general communication graduates.

In the discussion session, Dr. Yopi Kusmiati expressed her opinion regarding the strengthening of the KPI student research area in the scope of social media as a new direction for future student research topics. She explained that research is not only focused on traditional da'wah communication, but also begins to open up space for contemporary studies, such as social media, YouTube , and other digital platforms that are relevant to the development of Islamic communication today.

At the end of the discussion session, the Dean of FDIKOM, Dr. Gun Gun Heryanto gave a closing statement . He said that the scientific distinction of KPI clearly has differences with general communication science. "So, KPI which focuses on broadcasting does have an Islamic mission, with media connectivity or multichannels . In institutional , KPI is indeed need repair . So, it is natural If in the context of quo vadis , appears possibility development Islamic communication ”. (Explained by Dr. Gun Gun Heryanto, M.Si )
