The Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Study Program of FDIKOM UIN Jakarta once again held the Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Discussion (SIKOPI) Series 2 Session 3 with the theme "Integration of KPI Science" on Thursday (24/04), held in the Meeting Room on the 2nd floor of FDIKOM which was attended by the Dean of FDIKOM Dr. Gun Gun Heryanto along with the ranks of Vice Deans, Heads and Secretaries of Study Programs, Lecturers, and Students. The discussion was opened by the Head of the KPI Study Program, Dr. Yopi Kusmiati, M.Si and guided by Kalsum Minangsih, MA as the moderator.
This scientific discussion presents two competent speakers in their fields. The first speaker, Dr. Fita Fathurokhmah, M.Si delivered material entitled " Integration of Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Sciences: Opportunities and Challenges ". In his presentation, he emphasized that Islamic Communication and Broadcasting science must transform into an integrated discipline that is responsive to changes in the times. According to him, scientific integration is the key to maintaining the relevance, identity, and contribution of KPI amidst the dynamics of global communication. He also emphasized the importance of curriculum renewal, strengthening human resources, and developing unique theories of Islamic Communication and Broadcasting.
Meanwhile, Dr. Edi Amin, MA delivered material entitled " Efforts to Integrate Islamic Science ". He highlighted that the development of Islamic communication science is determined by research based on Islamic values. However, the main challenge facing Islamic communication is the dominance of established general communication science. Therefore, Islamic communication should be integrated with general communication science.
Closing the series of discussions, the Dean of FDIKOM, Dr. Gun Gun Heryanto, M.Si expressed his hope that the material presented in this forum could be developed into a complete academic paper. "This paper is expected to be the material for the KPI symposium throughout Indonesia next year. So that it can improve, change, propose, and validate the KPI as Islamic communication in the field of communication. Thus, KPI graduates can be proposed as integrated communication graduates, while strengthening UIN Jakarta as an initiator of reinforcement for other KPIs throughout Indonesia." He concluded.
